The pre-dawn raids were conducted simultaneously in Ahmedabad and Surat cities. According to officials, the coordinated operation involved the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, Special Operations Group (SOG), Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), and local police forces. The crackdown began at 3:00 AM and focused on areas known for harboring undocumented immigrants. In Ahmedabad, approximately 890 individuals were detained, while another 134 were held in Surat.
